A Space Saving Corner TV Cabinet Could Be for You

While we may all have the desire to have a large, dedicated media room for entertainment purposes, most of us will have to be happy with a nice entertainment setup in the family room or den.  Some of us are lucky and are able to hang a new flat screen television on the wall or even above the fireplace.  But again, not all have that luxury either and seek a solution that will serve the need of housing a nice television and all the components needed for our viewing pleasure today without overwhelming the space.  Luckily, there is a solution that could be the answer.  A corner TV cabinet can house your flat screen television as well as that cable or satellite box along with your DVD player or blu-ray player in addition to utilizing wall space in the most efficient manner.

You may be thinking that your choices will be somewhat limited when you set out to purchase a corner TV cabinet.  However, I think you will be pleasantly surprised with the many units that are available on the market today.  You will see units that range from just a set of shelves for your television and other components to rest upon all the way to full fine furniture pieces that you can be proud to display in any decor.  For instance, I am sure you have all seen an armoire style television cabinet designed with either two doors on top and two doors on the bottom or two doors that run the entire height of the cabinet.  Yes, there are quite a few armoire units designed to fit nicely into the corner of your family room.

If you prefer to have an open corner TV cabinet, those are available also.  They provide the same functionality of the armoire units, only minus the doors.  The units that are designed with the new flat screen televisions in mind allow you to have the TV sit on a shelf inside or on top of the unit or some require the television to be mounted on the rear wall of the unit.  You will also find units that are shelves or a cabinet below with a vertical flat or round pole extending above the unit on which to mount a flat screen TV.  The pole provides an open chase that allows you to hide the mass of wires used to connect your components to the TV.

Interestingly, there are also units manufactured that are bedroom height which place the television at the optimum viewing height when you are lying in bed.  All of these units are available in several different sizes and widths as well as different types of woods and finishes.  You will also find a corner unit manufactured in just about any style ranging from Quaker to Mission and most everything in between allowing you to easily match the design of the remainder of your furniture.  As you can see, with a little time and effort, you should be able to locate a beautiful space-saving corner TV cabinet that will serve the dual purpose of providing a nice place to house the components of your entertainment system and also help save that valuable space we all covet so much.
